The Sturgeon Sloughs management area is on a floodplain in northwestern Baraga and eastern Houghton Counties. The state forest management area is 8,073 acres in size. Wildlife management objectives address the habitat requirement for Canada goose, mallards, American woodcock, black bear and eastern bluebird. There are plenty of outdoor activities that are available out your front door or nearby such as hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, atving, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, boating to name a few.
