This property was homesteaded in the mid 1800's by Hugh Leeper Brown one of the original pioneers of the Calapooya River Valley. He was one of the founding members and the namesake for the town of Brownsville. The barn he built in 1849 is one of the oldest still standing in the Willamette Valley and is on the National Register of Historic Places, the "Hugh Leeper Brown Barn."This 178 acre farm is located one mile East of the town of Brownsville.
