The north is state land. The closest neighbors are at the bottom of the road, one mile. They are friendly, helpful and cooperative. I love the way the light filters throughout this house. Windows, windows, windows. No upper cupboards in the kitchen; large pantry. Wonderful views of Bald Mountain to the north and Pioneer Peak and the Chugach Range to the east. The year-round creek is not visible from the house, but is audible. A few salmon spawn in the creek. Fishing is available in the Little Susitna River, access about three miles away. Wildlife is abundant and frequent visitors: moose, brown and black bear, fox, lynx (only caught on game camera), coyotes, and all kinds of birds. There is a lift in the breezeway for easy access from the ground to the main floor. It is very useful for moving firewood to the back porch for easy access in the winter, and heavy loads of any kind, including groceries. Especially important for wheelchair access to the home for yourself or guests. The walk-in shower is also convenient for handicapped or a dog wash!
