After serving our Country for over 20 years, Jim retired from the U.S. Army in 1986 at Fort Benning, GA. While attending the US Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS, he completed his Masters in Business Administration. Upon his military retirement he was initially licensed as a Realtor in 1986. Jim initially started with Showcase Realty because of their extensive training program. He later transferred to RE/MAX where he became a top producer closing hundreds of homes. While working as a Realtor, Jim developed a closing cost software program that would assist Real Estate Agents in quickly and accurately projecting the estimated closing costs, down payment and monthly payments for the various residential loan programs as well as providing a comparison of the available loan types for buyers. In the early months of 1996, Jim was recruited and opened a branch office of AFI Mortgage Corporation in the Columbus area. AFI Mortgage Corporation later changed names to First Mortgage Investment Company the following year. During his time as branch manager his branch closed many FHA, VA and Conventional loans. Jim started Busy Hands Remodeling in 2001 and began remodeling high end homes and apartments in the Columbus area. They have also completed projects in Columbia, South Carolina and Miami, Florida. Today his company has completed many small remodeling projects as well as entire home remodeling jobs and flipped homes for profit. He has often been called "MacGyver" and "Mike Holmes" from a few of his remodeling clients and friends. He will not give up and will find a way to completely satisfy his customers while demanding quality "above Code" work at reasonable pricing. In 2003 for professional reasons, he transferred to Solid Source Premier Realty. The brokers at Solid Source recently purchased a Century 21 franchise and now we are Century 21 Premier Real Estate. Century 21 has been recognized by JD Powers as the top real estate firm for the past 3 years. Jim is also an active member of various Real Estate Investor Groups in Atlanta, Newnan and the Columbus area. He often does real estate presentations at each of these groups covering various topics. He is the developer of various software to help others better comprehend repairs, materials and labor cost estimates, as well as deal analyzers for both residential home flips and rental purchases.
