"The GREAT Academy helped my student to graduate when no other school was working. The small environment helped my son tremendously. He did not have any of the problems there that he was having at other Albuquerque schools."

"The Great Academy is a poor place to get an education. Students spend four hours or more per day staring at computers. The complete their lessons online. For those who really don't care, they guess at the answers and retake quizzes and tests until they pass. This kind of "education" will not prepare them for college. It really prepares them to work in jobs that require people who show up and fill empty slots, because it's an impersonal factory style of learning. The state auditor investigated the school and found many highly questionable practices. The top three administrators are all related, and their salaries equal nearly half the budget of the school. They claim it's a "great" school. But the innovative practices they speak about are not wonderful in reality. The positive things I can say are: many students eventually graduate (with poor preparation for life) and it's a safe environment (because students are treated in a very institutionalizing kind of way)."

"This school doesn't even deserve a one start in fact if I could I'd give it a negative. First lets start off with the school's employees are rude and have no manners, the dean which is also the founder is FULL of himself. The lunch room staff would constantly yell at us to "Shut the f up" Yes they would curse. I was sent to the deans office with a kid to help calm him cause he was a friend, when I calmed him and got up to leave after the kid the dean pulled me back into the room and said, "It's sad how mad he get's I feel bad for the little prick." I got up and stormed out. That school is anything but great, That school is the school were the teachers who are sent to hell crawl from the depts of hell and torture teens. I would rather drink bleach than ever go back to that place, I hope it gets shut down."

"During orientation, they claimed to have a teacher in the classroom available to help as the students need it. However, the teacher was very rarely able to help academically. They are mostly there to just police the children, make sure they are sitting correctly, and not talking to anyone. This environment is NOT conducive to learning. Students truly fend for themselves at this school and as a result quickly fall behind. They claim their their school is a revolution in education and was developed for the modern age. I do not know where they get off claiming such a thing because if you hear the Dean (who is VERY full of himself) speak, he has no problem stating the unimportance of socializing and fun for students. I guess that's fine as long as the classroom is at least interesting, fun, and engaging. But It is not. This school literally and purposefully sucks the fun right out of education."
